ESU LokSound 58410 is an important model in the LokSound 5 range, featuring a 8-Pin interface. It combines precise motor control with a high-fidelity sound module on a compact 30 x 15.5 mm board—small enough to fit almost any H0 or 0 gauge locomotive. The decoder includes an 11 x 15 mm sugar cube speaker with enclosure, pre-wired with a thin lead for easy installation.

Locomotives fitted with the ESU LokSound 58410 operate on both digital and analogue AC (3-rail) and DC (2-rail) layouts, with multi-protocol support for M4 (Märklin® mfx), DCC, Motorola®, and Selectrix®. The decoder supports 14 through to 128 speed steps as well as 2 and 4 digit addresses in DCC format. The M4 protocol supports the automatic registration on mfx® compatible digital control stations such as Marklin Central Station CS3/CS3+, CS2 and Mobile Station. LokSound 5 decoder supports the Marklin® braking sections just as well as the ZIMO® HLU braking commands or the Lenz® ABC system. Braking with DCC brake generators or with DC is also possible.
